Dr. Andrew Inglis is a specialist generalist and enjoys all aspects of medicine and surgery.
His main ambition is to provide the highest quality, evidence-based, individualised patient care.
He has particular interests in managing complex cases involving multimorbidity ( numerous co-existing medical problems) and polypharmacy (numerous different medications taken together). He has deep interests in psychiatry and paediatrics. He has gained qualifications in pre-hospital emergency care and family planning.
Originally from London, UK, Dr Inglis obtained his medicine and surgery degree at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, completing it in just 4 years (normally takes 5 years) and achieved it with Merit in 2010. He then did his Foundation Doctor Training at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust (University of Cambridge Associate Teaching Hospital). While a Foundation Doctor Dr. Inglis completed a History of Medicine course provided by the University of Oxford. He later went on to do his GP Specialty Training at the renowned East of Scotland Deanery. Following this, he worked as a GP Locum working at various different GP practices around Scotland.
He also spent 2 years as one of the main GPs serving the Isle of Skye. He obtained a diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare at the famous Caryl Thomas Clinic in London where he was also awarded a Letter of Competence in sub-dermal implants (insertion and removal). Dr Inglis has also completed a variety of pre-hospital emergency care qualifications including one on Major Incident Management. In his spare time, Dr. Inglis enjoys spending time with his wife, Marianne (also a GP) and their 4-year-old son Sebastian.
Dr. Inglis enjoys swimming, travelling, classical music and palaeontology.
